Beyonce

Post by debeauvoir on Mon Aug 15, 2011 1:23 pm

Beyonce Knowles, formerly of Destiny's Child, is an American R&B/Pop artist. Her most recent effort, 4, has been on repeat in my ipod for the past few months.

I've always loved Beyonce, ever since I listened to Destiny's Child as a wee lad. Her voice is gorgeous, and she always knows how to make me dance like a silly drunkard at bars! "4," which focuses more on ballad-heavy, introspective songs shows a depth of maturity and growth that were missing from her previous efforts. I hope there are other fans!

I think she's amazing as well. Definitely enjoy the maturity in her songs...

I love B'Day and 4 so much. She's got a set of golden pipes on her. <3

My favorite song on 4 is "I Was Here". I was sad to see that it's one of the songs that got torn apart by reviewers. Sure, it is a little cliche but she manages to pull it off without it being hokey. And its a powerful song. I can only imagine how it's going to be done live. It'll be her new "Halo".

I like 4 more than any of her other albums. Best Thing I Never Had is a guilty pleasure. Embarassed

B'Day will always be her most fulfilling. That album has everything.

I'm with uponthe101! I love B'Day, but I really, really connected with 4. I think the weakest song on the record is Girls. I mean, it is a brilliant message, and I applaud her, but I wish she would have used a different backing track. (I thought Diplo/Switch and Beyonce would be a dream come true...guess not :/)

Yeah, "Run The World (Girls)" doesn't fit with the album at all. And the fact that it was the project's lead single is pretty horrible. Razz It should have been a standalone single.

Totally, totally agree. I feel as though the song was a last minute decision.
